Barley
From Almeopedia
Almean barley is a grass with bristly, edible kernels— the wild plant dispersed its seeds by hooking them on passing animals. The bristles are not edible and are normally burned off, though tumbling them and blowing off the bristles also works. It can be boiled into porridge, milled into flour, or fermented to produce beer.
It grows almost everywhere in the temperate zone, but since it does not resist cold well, it is not found in the mountains, in Luduyn, or in the southern littoral.
