DIQUN BORMAI

The Diqun Bormai [di ˈqun ˈbor maj] is a major topographic feature of southern Ereláe, forming an impassable barrier between the Barbarian Plain to the north and Luduyn to the south. The mountains are analogous to Earth's Himalayas: quite young (geologically speaking), high mountains formed as the result of the collision of the Luduyn subcontinent with the rest of Ereláe. They are a source of gems and other minerals, exported to nearby human nations by the Elcari who live high in the mountains.

Etymology: , X. Čiqay dialect Diqun from Elkarîl diqm ‘cobalt ore’ + bormai ‘mountain range’; standard X. Dikun bormai, Ver. Řilë Dicumbórmay.
