Nalernukh

From Almeopedia

The Nalernukh steppe is an arid region in central Ereláe, the original habitat of the horse in Almea. The region is demarcated by the Elkarin mountains to the north, and the Rhanor Range, Lake Bérunor, and the Barbarian Plain to the east. To the south are the colder expanses of Baslernukh, and westwards lies only desolate steppe and desert up to the borders of Téllinor.

Since time immemorial, Nalernukh has been the homeland of certain nomadic Telise peoples—specifically, the Somoyi, and the Meťelyi. Though decidedly not urban, the steppe-dwellers tend to cluster a bit more densely along the principal rivers of the region, the upper tributaries of the Lernukh. Over many thousands of years they have quietly lived their nomadic existence, raiding eastwards when their neighbors are sufficiently disunited or weakened.
