Retnanise

The Retnanise race occupies the arctic island continent of Palthuknen, as well as a few nearby islands. Their skin color is a nondescript yellowish beige; as it is most similar to some Curymise peoples, it may be that the Retnanisî are an offshoot of a Curymise people. Their hair is a dark brown. Their faces and bodies show adaptations to the extreme cold: narrow eyes hidden from the glare, flat noses to minimize loss of air, adaptations to low temperatures such that Retnanise people become uncomfortable if the temperature climbs above 15° C.

There is a single language family on Palthuknen, Palthuk, which is not clearly related to any other Almean language family. (Some have found resemblances to languages of northern Lebiscuri, largely because they want to find them; the evidence is poor.)
