Rye
From Almeopedia
Rye is a grass, similar to wheat. Its kernels are not as glutinous as wheat’s, and so do not rise when made into bread, unless wheat flour is added. However, it is hardier and grows better farther to the south than wheat; it is the chief cereal crop of southern Xengiman, Gurdago and the southern littoral.
The Wede:i used it to make their chief alcoholic drink, riŋtuka or rye beer; they passed this predilection to the Axunemi (rintuka) and Xurnese, but the Skourenes preferred wine.
