Sarniëma

From Almeopedia

< SARNIËMA

Sarniëma [sar ni ˈjɛ ma] is a neighborhood in Verduria city, east of Ažimba, nestled in the valley between Ažirei and Lúdamen hills. During the late Eleďe dynasty it was a park, a pleasant place to get away from the city and take a promenade; under the Abolinerons nobles built villas there; many of which still remain. Ažerey 2e extended the city walls to enclose it. Since the old walls remain, it has the distinction of being the only neighborhood to be completely surrounded by walls; perhaps because of this, its inhabitants (mostly middle to lower class) have the reputation of being standoffish, insular, and a bit dim-- it's the joke neighborhood of the city. (Its own residents, however, look down on the poor neighborhoods outside the walls.)

Etymology: 'eastern park'
