That would have avoided some trouble but caused more trouble. Verduria doesn't have (say) the insistence that the British have had on maintaining the royal line: the Biyetora was always there to choose a new monarch. As a corollary, it doesn't have a strong tradition of regents. So having a crazy king was highly undesirable. Zompist 16:33, 29 July 2008 (PDT)
