Wede:i is an agglutinating language. Its vocabulary consists of basic roots which can be extended into different parts of speech, their meaning changed or modified, with various suffixes. Most of the suffixes are optional, so that there is a choice of what sort of information to convey with a given word. The language is head final, sentences tend to be SOV.

The Wede:i were the inventors of writing on Almea. Initially the writing was entirely logographic, later was supplemented with signs representing syllables. The script was standarized by the king Nanuŋitera and consisted of 655 syllabic signs and 440 logographs.
