Wines

Verdurian wine (vin) is classified into the following groups (as opposed to our familiar red/white/rosé):

  • uzina - sweet white
  • ořpitë - strong white
  • řasia - light red (including rosé)
  • cleir - medium red
  • luyšor - heavy red

Wine was independently invented by the Meťaiun and the Skourenes. The best wine-making regions of Eretald are considered to be Célenor, Curesi, Koto, Zandorini, and Kebri. The coastal regions of Eretald, including Verduria city, are more fond of wine than beer.

Beer

Beer (šerë) is made from fermented barley and flavored with oil from the peza flower. Beer is the staple of the Caďinorian heartland and is often featured in pagan rituals. It can be divided into three types:

  • ďula šerë - ale, a creamy, smooth-tasting, honey-colored beer
  • flavë šerë - lager, a light (German-style) beer made with less peza
  • fužula šerë - bitter, a dark brown (English-style) beer

Other

Also common in Eretald is mead (žöh), made from honey. It's commonly said that people who prefer beer, wine, or mead are strong, smart, or crazy, respectively. Various distilled liquors (kopurulî) are available but expensive.
