Zol
From Almeopedia
Zol [zol] was a king of Verduria, the sixth of the Prežeon dynasty.
He was born in 3089, eldest son of king Ažerey 1e. Though he was confirmed from an early age as duke of Kaino, heir to the throne, he was constantly compared to his younger brother Acuyo, who was considered brighter, more charming, and even more athletic. His friends told him not to worry— he was going to be king, after all.
And of course he was duly made king when his father died, in 3113. By all accounts he was a dutiful and entirely dull king, content to preside over ceremonies and let his advisors run the country. He was only 24; perhaps he would grow into the role.
But just two years later Acuyo convinced the general Boďomor Kušďey to take over the royal palace and imprison Zol. He was kept in a cell, then in a small bedroom, for three years; then restricted to a small palace in Anaseri. He was occasionally summoned to Verduria city to participate in some humilitating game or ritual designed by his usurping brother. He was allowed to have friends visit, but no women— Acuyo did not want to risk him producing an heir. (Assignations with servants were acceptable; bastards would have no claim on the sash.)
In 3128 Kušďey freed him and brought him to the city, explaining that he was finally deposing the erratic and destructive Acuyo. Zol understood that he would be restored to the kingship. But once they reached the palace, he was killed along with his brother, and Kušďey usurped the sash.
